wish this was iPhone 5 not iPhone 4S.. why wasn't this released back in July...
Not much is the same except the outside. It’s a whole new phone on the inside, so they couldn’t just flip a switch and release it. The hardware AND software had to be developed first. There’s no sign that either the 4S or iOS 5 were ready in July, and plenty of evidence that they weren’t. Since the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 were outselling every competitor anyway, why would they want to rush something half-finished out the door, Android-style?

I was hopping to see a new IPhone not the bulky and fragile glass incase. I’ve been waiting for this new phone for so long and it didn’t help all the rumors about the new design, larger screen and thinner aluminum body and what did we get? Same old IPhone 4, not enough to change my mind and make me rush to the purchase line.

Sorry Apple, you had my hope so high and now I am very disappointed with the results.

Apple did not have your hopes up. You had your hopes up. Reality check time.

If you have an iphone 4, I understand the underwhelmed response.

But as someone with a 3gs, it's really a nice upgrade. The ONLY thing I wanted was a larger screen, but otherwise I did get everything else...

ios5+iPhone4 = Good enough for now, and I'm assuming that's true for most.

Same thing that I thought with my 3GS and iOS 4. With the difference between a 3GS and a 4 already being rather large, the difference from a 3GS to a 4S is even bigger.

I don't see why anybody who got a 3GS from the start and still has it would not want to upgrade to the 4S.
