ifoAppleStore reports that the Sagemore Apple retail store was robbed in a smash-and-grab burglary last night conducted by five individuals. In only 31 seconds, the burglars were able to make off with 23 MacBook Pros, 14 iPhones and 9 iPod touches. A night shift security guard, whose position had been added due to a similar burglary at the store back in March, declined to intervene when one of the burglars motioned to indicate that he had a gun.

The five men struck at 2 a.m., police say, again using a large rock to break the window. Because of the earlier burglary, an unarmed security guard was on-duty inside the store. However, the guard didn't intervene when one of the men motioned that he had a gun.

Philadelphia television station WPVI broadcast a report from the scene that includs surveillance footage of the crime. Police are asking anyone with information to please contact the authorities.

Wow... it's a shop. They have insurance... who really cares about a few stolen laptops? They're replaceable and it's not like anyone was hurt. You lot have some strange priorities

Blu-ray is to video quality as MP3 is to audio.
I was following you until this part.

Time for a rewrite? ;)

Did just somebody accuse Apple of daylight robbery?

3 grand for a computer?! With no Blu Ray?! THAT is criminal!

Bluray is overrated.

No one said you have to kill them. A bullet in the kneecaps will deter most thieves trying to make off with your merchandise.

Spoken like someone whose had no training in the use of firearms for personal protection.

* Shooting a person in the leg can still kill. Ever heard of the femoral artery? Hit someone there and they'll bleed to death in seconds. If you're not shooting to kill, you don't shoot.
* Use of deadly force is only allowed in life-or-death situations. Shooting a person to prevent theft of property will land you in jail unless your life is threatened.

Wow. Is this world filled with THAT many degenerates? This is just sad.
Yes. And then some. Low lifes that believe "the man" or "society" or <insert lame excuse> is trying to keep them down, so they feel "entitled" to steal and rob from others.

These are the kinds of people that just really need to get the **** beat out of them. Broken bones and whatnot. That's the only way they'll learn their lesson. These same people are going to break into someone's home next week and steal their plasma TV. And if they really do have guns like the article suggests, they'll possibly shoot the homeowners dead. Maybe the home will be yours or mine? This is exactly why gun-control doesn't work: cause the criminals will still have them, but the now-defenseless law abiding victims will not.

It’s obvious by these comments how young and naive you guys really are. Have the guard shoot them? Dust for prints? 1000s in any retail store. You have been watching too much TV.

Reality check. The Apple Store has insurance. Clean up the glass, put out new merchandise, file a claim, get reimbursed, make a new security plan, and life goes on.

The police will take the report, give an interview to the news station, file away the serial numbers in case a computer turns up, and eat a donut.

The only chance that these thieves will be caught is one of them brags to his friends and someone turns him in.

I would have a good laugh though if the guys stopped at a gas station with a drive off camera and an alert clerk saw them in the same clothing. Then, maybe the police will find them by the fake spoiler screwed on the Civic’s trunk. (If the camera was working…if they remember to save the video…)
