Looking for a well-rounded wine list when you dine out? You're in luck. More than a dozen Westchester restaurants, many of them repeat recipients, made Wine Spectator's 2024 list, a high honor in the restaurant and wine world.

Last year, the magazine picked nine Westchester spots. This year 14 were recognized, many of them, like Micheline in Scarsdale, Heritage 147 in Larchmont, and Shiraz Kitchen + Wine Bar in White Plains, are first-time nominees.

Micheline opened last September in Scarsdale and is, for the first time, on Wine Spectator's list for its wines, a high honor in the restaurant business.

Among those selected:

This year’s awards program, which will be announced in the magazine's July issue, recognizes 3,777 dining destinations from all 50 states as well as more than 75 countries internationally.

Also featured in the issue, on sale July 9: how today’s restaurants are reinvesting in the future by rebuilding their wine programs and partnering for success with wineries and winemakers to deepen relationships and lay the groundwork for continued growth.

According to Marvin R. Shanken, Wine Spectator's editor and publisher, the restaurant industry is "growing and thriving, with restaurant openings surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time.

"To take advantage of the uptick, restaurateurs are investing in their wine programs."

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. They are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 2,150; 1,531; and 96 winners this year in each respective category.
