Police investigating after 2 found dead in Fort Lauderdale apartment

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered inside apartment on Tuesday.

According to Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening, officers responded to the 1400 block of Northwest Third Court just after 10:45 a.m. in reference to a death investigation.

Neighbors said a couple lived in the apartment unit and that there was blood and flies outside.

A neighbor said the bodies had been in the apartment for a few days and said a relative showed up screaming after noticing the pool of blood out front.

Neighbors also said they heard arguing between two men sometime Saturday but did not hear any gunshots.

Liening said the bodies of two people were found inside the residence, but the circumstances surrounding their deaths remains under investigation.
