FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – One man died and four men were injured — including one whose condition was critical — during a shooting on Friday night in Fort Lauderdale, according to police.

Detective Ali Adamson, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, reported the fatal victim was pronounced dead at the hospital after transport.

“One victim is in critical condition, and the other three are currently in stable condition and expected to survive,” Adamson wrote in a statement.

Detectives were investigating the shooting after police officers responded at about 7:10 p.m., to Northwest Eighth Street near 22 Road, in the Franklin Park community.

“This incident appears to have been a drive-by shooting,” Adamson wrote.

Fire rescue personnel took five victims to the Broward Health Medical Center.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
