Today’s Adopt A Pet: Humane Society of Broward County celebrates new Garfield movie

Candace is up for adoption in Broward

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Candace was in the Local 10 News studio on Saturday with Sherri Walker, of The Humane Society of Broward County, who said she is a “low rider” because “she has very, very short legs.”

Walker said the 2-year-old English bulldog, pit bull mix, or pocket pitbull, was a stray with her mother. Candace is about 38 pounds and likes sloppy kisses.

With the release of “The Good Life” movie, Walker said the shelter will have Garfield freebies between 2 to 4 p.m., on May 18, at 2070 Griffin Road, in Fort Lauderdale. It’s one of many special events to open the shelter to the community.

Walker said she hopes they fall in love with a cat or a dog like Candace and give them a forever home. For more information about today’s adopt a pet, visit this page.
