FBI arrests man accused of robbing Wells Fargo in Broward

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – FBI special agents have announced the arrest of a man who they said stole from a Wells Fargo bank on Monday in Fort Lauderdale.

Authorities said Ramon Alberto Martinez-Ocasio, 55, of Fort Lauderdale, allegedly took cash from a Wells Fargo bank teller around 10:30 a.m. near the 3300 block of North Federal Highway.

The arrest was made without incident by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department on Tuesday morning, according to the FBI.

No one was injured during the bank robbery.

Detectives said Martinez-Ocasio is in federal custody and it is anticipated that he will have his initial appearance in Fort Lauderdale federal court.

Investigators did not release information on how much money was taken during the incident.

The FBI is asking anyone with information about the case to call 754-703-2000.
