Miami brewery serves up some magic in Little Haiti

MIAMI – A local brewery is pouring magic into Miami’s Little Haiti community.

They’re only a year old and serving up live entertainment and beer-infused spirits.

Their goal is to make the best beer, not the fastest, which will keep people coming to the growing neighborhood.

So we went behind the scenes to watch them work.

On the heels of their one-year anniversary, Magic 13 Brewery is taking us to where the magic happens.

Local 10′s Alexis Frazier stepped inside the in-house brewery with head brewer Jean Taboada.

“Here we mix malt and other grains with water and other brewing salts and make the extractions,” he explained.

The process takes weeks to get that perfect mixture and they’re constantly creating.

There are five core beers that you can always get and they always have eight additional flavors rotating.

“We brew about 1,200 beers every six hours,” Taboada said.

The in-house brewery can be seen from the taproom.

And they both sit inside a 10,000-square-foot space that also holds a bar and outside beer garden.

On any given night, you can catch a themed event.

“We have two stages. Always looking into creating a great experience with live music,” owner Ricardo Romano said.

The beer is carefully crafted and can pair well with food provided from the on-site permanent food truck.

Meat N Bone is serving up a variety of menu items perfect for Miami.

But Frazier’s personal favorite was the Wagyu burger. It’s topped off with a house sauce that is filled with flavor.

You can pair them yourself with a flight.

“Jean keeps coming up with creative beers, so I just love coming every week to see what he’s brewing,” Romano said.
