Road closed after car 'flips onto its roof' during crash

Merseyside Police confirmed its road policing unit was in attendance and investigating

A Liverpool road has been closed after a crash between two vehicles resulted in a car "flipping onto its roof".

Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO that officers are in attendance at Bowring Park Road, Childwall, following an incident this morning, Saturday, June 1. A force incident manager told the ECHO officers arrived at the scene at 7.44am following reports of a two-vehicle crash.


The senior officer added the occupants of the two vehicles had slight injuries. Merseyside Police's road policing unit is currently in attendance at the scene and is investigating, the force added.

An eyewitness told the ECHO a car was on its roof. An image sent to the ECHO showed a number of police vehicles including from the force's Matrix unit in attendance at the scene. The road is closed off by the junction with Rocky Lane, near the Turnpike Tavern pub. Merseyside Police did not confirm when the road would be reopened for drivers.
