This animation neatly sums up a lot of hard work. The Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC), a tribal consortium in Interior Alaska serving 42 communities, received a $26 million grant to incorporate solar PV arrays and battery storage systems into existing microgrids at eight communities in its territory. The microgrid feasibility study was key to securing the grant, the details of which were explained in a Dispatches from the Energy Transition webinar produced by Mayfield Renewables and renewable energy marketing agency Outfit. “Historically, when people have come into the commercial space, they've only really worked with a company like Walmart or IKEA, anyone who has an A-plus S&P Moody's credit rating, and if you didn't have that high investment grade rating, companies just wouldn't finance you. That doesn't actually align well with the number of commercial businesses out there or their credit quality,” says Wilson Chang, CEO of Sunrock Distributed Generation. https://lnkd.in/dwETqyYa

“Today, solar is one of the most affordable and reliable energy sources we have to power our economy,” said Ray Long, president and CEO of American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). “Injecting uncertainty into the market slows economic growth and the good-paying jobs clean energy creates, undermines U.S. climate objectives, and will inevitably raise energy costs for American families." https://lnkd.in/giJGtxzR

The National Electric Code has positioned the power control system (PCS) as a central component of home energy management and solar + storage integration. Integrating a PCS can avoid main panel upgrades (MPU) and allow you to surpass the 120% rule. In Power Controls & NEC 2023, a special report from Solar Builder Magazine and FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc., we explain the origin of PCS in code, the application of PCS in solar + storage system design — and how it impacts your installation business. Learn: ✔ The definition of PCS in NEC 2020 & 2023. ✔ How PCS allows you to surpass the 120% rule. ✔ Why AC-coupled ESS is crucial for PCS. ✔ The role of intelligent circuits in avoiding MPU. Access it here: https://lnkd.in/ghZSdDM2 “Home electrification will likely drive the need for a larger utility service in the home,” says Doug Amarhanow, Product Manager with FranklinWH. Upgrading the utility service for the home is an expensive and complex procedure, which earns electricians revenue but is one they do not enjoy. PCS may be used on the existing service and maintain safety in the home while each electrical appliance is used.” Access it here: https://lnkd.in/ghZSdDM2
