At the Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit, we talked to Laura Frank from COLab, the Colorado News Collaborative about how they are using AI to drive powerful insights. Hear how AI has transformed their work and velocity. "Collab does a survey of news organizations every year, and a number of the answers in that survey are open text. Being able to analyze that using AI is such an incredible difference compared to what journalists would have had to do years ago. I can remember one of the first times that I ever did an open text analysis, I actually had to collaborate with the University of Illinois supercomputing unit so that we could do that. (Now) I'm able to just sit at a kitchen table on a Saturday afternoon. Going from supercomputing to Saturday afternoon ChatGPT analysis just shows you the power that AI can put in the hands of people." 💡 Ready to start your own nonprofit AI transformation? Changing your work habits a little at a time can have a big impact. How can you get time back by delegating your to-do lists to Microsoft Copilot? Learning how to leverage AI in this simple way is a great place to start shifting your work habits. By giving Copilot a bit of context and details, you can turn your to-do list into prompts. Say you’re setting up a fundraiser and you have a list of tasks. Try breaking down each task into steps, then turn those steps into prompts. It could look something like this: - Write a save the date email for our Annual Masquerade Gala and auction on October 4, 2024, at Kiana Lodge. Tickets will be $100 each and our goal is to raise $200,000 for the food bank. Tickets will be available for sale on June 15. Make the tone fun and engaging. - Write a social post for the event - Write a thank you note for everyone who purchases a ticket with a reminder of the event details - Write an email for the auction asking for volunteers Copilot will generate the copy for you to review and edit as needed! Try these prompts and add your own ideas. Tip: Proceed conversationally and incrementally. Look through our guide https://msft.it/6040YhxN0 for more easy prompt engineering tips and free and intuitive tools.
