Boeing plans to plea guilty in a high-profile case surrounding two fatal 737 Max crashes that killed 346 people. The plea deal, made with the U.S. Department of Justice, includes a three-year probation with several conditions, including a meeting between Boeing’s board of directors and crash victims’ families, and a requirement to invest at least $455 million toward its compliance and safety programs over the next three years. If accepted by a federal judge, such a deal would close a yearslong case that thrust its quality control programs into the spotlight.
