A new place to live in Dallas-Fort Worth. Our Structural and Multifamily team is delivering foundations for 8 apartment buildings, clubhouse and maintenance building foundations, on-site fire lane, parking, and dumpster pads at Birchway Denton III. We're also paving city sidewalks, installing fiber-reinforced sidewalks, and creating a stunning pool deck with decorative, integral-colored concrete. The weather and Texas heat have been tough, but we’re tackling these challenges head-on with temperature control methods and early morning pours. Kudos to the entire team for making it happen.

Relationships today, opportunities tomorrow. For student interns, absorbing knowledge and making connections for future opportunities is the name of the game. University of North Texas student and Kent intern Bryan Garcia is doing just that with our commercial concrete division in Dallas, Texas. Following Division Manager Wes Marek's advice to “Be a sponge, and soak up as much as possible," Bryan has been making the most out of his internship. He's estimating jobs, doing midnight pours, setting plates on tilt-wall panels, and making meaningful connections with the crew. Using his quiet confidence, Bryan is taking the advice to heart and creating building blocks for a successful future. #concrete #commercialconcrete #DFW #UNT #2024intern

Checking in on our interns in Austin: TXST- Concrete Industry Management students, Ethan Rodriguez and Daniel Strickland are overcoming “once in a Kent-lifetime” challenges in Central Texas. While classroom learning is essential, nothing beats the real-world experience of tackling unforeseen challenges on the job. This summer, Category 1 Hurricane Beryl caused lots of destruction and power outages leading to schedule delays. This unexpected situation provided a valuable opportunity for Ethan and Daniel to learn from the best on how to navigate and overcome these unpredictable challenges. Both teams excelled by overcoming project delays, rescheduling critical tasks, and expediting work to stay on track. Kudos to our Austin team for supporting Ethan and Daniel in a summer of growth, learning, and hands-on experience. #concrete #Austin #TXST #2024intern

Learning beyond the classroom. Kent Concrete intern, Edgar Alvarado, is spending his summer getting hands-on experience with Taylor Sittig and our Charlotte team. His favorite part? Working with our layout engineers on multifamily and commercial projects. Edgar is learning to use layout instruments to check measurements and elevations. He’s even setting footings and anchor bolts with the team. Getting the full Team RED experience, he’s rounding out the summer by spending time with the safety team, project managers, and field crews, learning from the best at Kent. #concrete #construction #charlotte #2024intern Central Piedmont Community College
