Throughout Season 10, Jackie Ferguson, CDE® and Diversity: Beyond the Checkbox has had some incredible guests. Let's see see how well you remember them. Which former guest serves as Interim Chief Program Officer at the Arise Collective? More about Arise: 'Arise Collective (formerly Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women) was started by Presbyterian Women in 1980 when a Presbyterian Coordinating Committee of Presbyteries across the state came together to fund the first female chaplain in the North Carolina prison system. Over the next four decades, the organization has provided chaplaincy services and more recently, transition education and reentry support for women, primarily in and around the North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women (NCCIW) and its minimum-security Canary unit, but now, supporting women incarcerated across the State. The organization became a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2004.' If you are interested about learning more or supporting the Arise Collective go to https://lnkd.in/gVNe7ewX Fun fact: Jackie is on the Board of Directors for Arise. See why she got involved, ' I joined the board at Arise Collective because I understand how close any of us is to a negative outcome. It could be one moment, one relationship, one decision that changes your life. Most often, the women participating in the Arise programs have experienced trauma or faced circumstances where choices seem limited. Arise Collective allows them to receive what we all have needed at least once in life: a reset, a course correction, or simply a hand-up without the erroneous stigma our society puts on justice involvement. I approach my service with the humility of knowing, "There, but for the grace of God, go I." And, I am compelled to be part of the solution, those who can facilitate support, education, and empowerment to benefit them, their families, and our communities.'
