The Africa Center, the Atlantic Council’s first regional Center, was founded in 2010 by James L. Jones Jr., Former National Security Advisor to President Obama and is led by Ambassador Rama Yade. It aims at: - Promoting a better knowledge and narrative of Africa - Strengthening the voice and influence of Africa in Washington, DC - Preparing American, European policymakers and investors for the African century The Africa Center is built on 4 pillars of action: 1. Security: Peace, Counter-Terrorism policy, Governance, Human Rights 2. Prosperity: Business, Trade, Development, Sciences and Technology, Climate, Digital Currencies 3.
