Winning the Reliability Award from Target Stores

With the help of Simon Hopper, our CEO, we’ve compiled a series of stories of how Diversitech came to be and we are excited to share them with you.

In the previous story, I mentioned that the Chinese supplier that we were using to supply Target store was having quality and on-time delivery issues.

At retail, delivering on time is a very strict requirement, and it’s a metric that the retailers actually measure.

At that time, we were performing at 83% on-time delivery out of shanghai, which was not acceptable. Normally, the goal will be 96%, and the very first year that we shipped Target stores Christmas promotional orders, we hit a metric off 100%.

That meant in 2006, we didn’t miss a deadline. Everything we shipped was on time and complete, and considering we did $14 million US worth of business and shipped about 400,000 units of toolsets.

It was quite a formidable task that I was very, very proud of the results.

Target was very pleased with the results, and in 2007, they awarded us the Reliability Vendor of The Year for 2006 because we had a perfect on-time delivery metric for quite a complicated private label, hand tool program.
