Why You Should Sign Up For Influenster

Do you like getting free things that are actually free? Then you need to RUN, not walk, to Influenster. I have been using Influenster since I was in high school. It is seriously amazing for people who love testing and reviewing beauty products. Just this week I got the Maybelline TattooStudio Voxbox, which includes two Maybelline brow products for me to try out.

Okay, so I know what you are thinking, what is the catch? How can these products actually be free? Ask and you shall receive, my friend.

Influenster functions by partnering with brands (Hollister, Pantene, YSL, etc) that send them their own products. Influenster then sends out surveys to their users. Basically, they have a target demographic that they know they want to reach so they send out these surveys to narrow down that audience. Then, Influenster sends out the products to those whose responses matched the target demographic. If you like the product that you are sent, then you are asked to do, for lack of a better term, free promotion. For example, in the last month, I received two makeup removers from Klorane. On Influenster’s website they asked me to review the product on Sephora’s website. They also asked me to post the products to my social media such as Instagram, Snapchat, etc and write my thoughts about the product. If you do all the tasks asked of you then you can unlock a badge on the website and you have a better chance of earning even more VoxBoxes in the future. Lastly, after a month or two they will ask you to review the products in a formal survey. This is super important. You must fill out this survey if you want to keep receiving VoxBoxes. The survey is mandatory! They send your responses back to the company as feedback on the product.

I want to make it super clear that you do NOT have to promote the product. You do not have to do the tasks or unlock the badge. For example, if you get a product that you hate and you do not want to promote it, then all you have to do is fill out the mandatory survey at the end. You will not be punished or receive fewer boxes in the future.

The process of using Influenster is really simple. After you first sign up, you may spend a good bit of time waiting before your first box. When I signed up about 6 years ago I waited almost a year until my first box. However, after that, they came much more frequently. Now, I’d say I get about 4-6 boxes a year. I have received products from Suave all the way up to high-end brands such as IGK and Milk Makeup, which are sold at Sephora. The IGK VoxBox I received had 3 hair products that were worth about $30 each. So, basically, I got almost $100 worth of products to try and test out for free. Plus, I already enjoy reviewing makeup (obviously) so it is a win/win.

If you are starting a makeup blog, Youtube channel, or something similar I can not recommend Influenster enough. Money can be tight, especially when you need to keep buying products to review, but Influenster can help provide products without spending more cash.
