Why I'm joining Cloud Software Group (Citrix Business Unit)

When I began my career in IT, I was doing consulting work for Fortune 500 organizations in the Chicago area.  It was during the early part of my career that I was exposed to a transformational new technology that enabled customers to allow their employees to work anywhere in the world with any type of application over any type of network connection (even dial-up or satellite network links).  That transformational technology was from a company named Citrix.  While Citrix was a small company back in the mid-90's they quickly grew leaps and bounds as they were one of a few technology vendors that enabled this type of remote access at that time.  Of all the vendors, Citrix was one of the highest performing technologies with the best return on investment.  I spent the next 20 years of my career building my experience with Citrix and Microsoft technologies and the work that I did with both of these vendors launched me into the career that I enjoy today.  While I never worked for Citrix, my consulting practice was a partner for more than 15 years and I spent about 8 years as a Citrix Technology Professional award recipient where I would provide feedback to Citrix on their product strategy and guide them on what things they needed to do to serve their customers.

I then took a break from the world of Citrix and joined VMware to help them grow their End-User Computing Business Unit.  I worked with VMware for 8 1/2 years and spent the bulk of that time as VP & CTO of the End-User Computing business unit.  I continued to work closely with Microsoft on a variety of different partnership activities that I led at VMware.  We grew the VMware EUC business many multiples in revenue during my tenure and I feel very good about everything that we accomplished in those years when I decided to step down from VMware in March 2023.

While I never worked for Citrix, I always held a special place in my heart for the company that I built my career on.  Today I'm pleased to announce that I've decided to join Cloud Software Group (the Citrix business unit) as VP & CTO starting next week!  I'm thrilled to join the extremely talented leadership team of Tom Krause , Sridhar Mullapudi , Hector Lima and the rest of the leadership team as we work to drive this business to it's full potential. Let's go!
