Welcome to Unretirement

Welcome to Unretirement

If you don't want to read my heartfelt words, you can go straight to the white paper here.

We started the journey to build a super company just over 2 years ago, over that 2 years we have seen the change in the world accelerate. Many things are getting better, many are not. The one thing we are truly sure of is that the idea of education to 21, get a job for life, get married, buy a house, have kids, retire at 65 is absolutely absurd to many generations.

Education, Work and Retirement are all under accelerating change and massive disruption. It's being driven by the younger and future generations for sure, but it is spreading throughout all generations as we all reconsider how we live our lives.

The opportunities open to everyone in the world today are different to 12 months ago, radically different from 5 years ago and unrecognisable from 10 years ago.

The problem and it's one for all of us, and the ecosystem that supports us, is this; the financial products designed 50 years ago, which are still prevalent today are no longer fit for purpose as we ALL live, earn and learn differently.

Education - The constant need to update our skillset is something that has been niggling for some time, but as we move into a new world of biotech and infotech, never before will life-long-learning be needed more. This changes the education model, changes the way we life, learn and finance our lives.

Work - We can now live and work wherever we want, moving jobs, states or countries without much stress. We can now work full-time, contract, part-time, gig-based or any other combination we want to put in to practice, however you want to build your life, you can. This changes the way we build wealth, build assets and our entire relationship with money.

Retirement - This myth that has been around for decades, is actually now a myth, whether that is because people can't retire or more than likely wont want to retire, retirement needs to be removed from our vocabulary. People confuse retirement with being free, free to have choices and to do the things that make us happy. This needs to end, we have to rewrite the myth, focus on financial independence and look at whole life happiness.

At Zuper, we believe that the pension industry can be a driving force in that change. If there is any one product that should be a life-long partner, for your career, your skills and your wealth, it's the pension (superannuation). Not enough is being done by the powerhouses in Australia or around the world to have a radical effect on the lives of younger people, to guide, educate and advance their wealth based around how they live, rather than an outdated way of thinking.

It's time to build businesses and products thats purpose is to work for and alongside the generations of today and tomorrow.

While pension funds focus on returns in a very one-dimensional sense, younger people are struggling with debt, lack of financial knowledge, an inability to own a home, being handed a world with climate issues, diversity issues and a rapidly ageing society. This is all wrapped up in anxiety about short term wealth, let alone anything longer term.

To fast track the innovation process, and spark conversations, we have decided to open source our thinking and blueprint in new white paper. We are currently piloting many of the ideas and concepts illustrated in this white paper in the Australian market, and our intention is to bring this innovation to the world.

If, like us, you believe the time has come to go back to first principles with pensions to reinvent and reimagine a better, more profitable and fair wealth journey for the people that this industry ultimately serves, then we invite you to download our white paper, read it, and share your thoughts with us in our Linkedin Group.

Zuper really opened my eyes to the amount of fees and ridiculous amount of money I was paying out each year to the company housing my super plan. I never thought of my super as my money until now. Investing in a company that puts thought, humanity into the ever changing global economy is something that I’m fully onboard with. Thank you for helping me feel more secure about my future! You guys rock.
