#TravelTTCTop3: 2022 Edition

As we move into 2022 and I find myself in those strange days of second guessing what year it is, exactly, I am excited about the year we are in.  So far as the truly exciting work I get to dig into with my team at The Travel Corporation, our work to implement our sustainability strategy, How We Tread Right, continues.

The last 12 twelve months were marked with strong steps towards achieving our 11 sustainability goals. We worked alongside our friends at The Travel Foundation as a signatory member of the Glasgow Declaration, which came in the footsteps of launching our Climate Action Plan. We’ve seen incredible progress by our family of brands with bring Make Travel Matter® Experiences to centre stage, all while receiving industry recognition for the criteria that are the backbone of the program. Our 2022 plan is even more exciting with a number of impact projects in the planning stages.

There was, however, one obvious item missing, travel. My kids have missed another year of learning through travel, a privilege that we’ve all missed. Though of course that’s made us value it greater. So then, with hope in mind, here are the three trips I’ve set my sight on for 2022.

Medellin to Tayrona National Park with Adventure World Travel

This one’s for our kids, who know enough to appreciate travel, and who have also watched enough nature films over these lock down days (a way to alleviate my own screen time guilt) to be truly excited about getting back out there. I’ve always wanted to stroll through Cartegena’s streets, but paired with Tayrona’s howler monkeys, capuchins and agouti – this one’s the way to see Colombia that has all four of us excited.

Rome and Tuscan Highlands with Trafalgar

The travel difficulties, like so many of us, has meant that time with my mom has been scarce. And so it’s time we remedy that (you can come too Dad). Both lovers of all things Italy, one of their favourite cities is Rome and I’m dying to explore it through their lens. Cooking classes and wine tastings from one Nonna to my kids Nanna, with me as onlooker, sounds downright dreamy at the moment.

Wander Women in Venice and the Croatia Coast with Insight Vacations

Call me selfish, but this one’s all for me. With special guest, and my dear friend, Céline Cousteau, this trip oozes inspiration. Filled with Make Travel Matter® Experiences, including chocolate making in Hvar and hiking in Plitvice National Park. I’m so very game!

I do hope that you too are dreaming for 2022!
