Time To Rebrand?

Time To Rebrand?

Going to work every day does not mean I leave an impression. One lady can never remember my name. She knows who I am and I know her by name. Even if she called me "Hey you" I would respond.

That beats when a man was reprimanding me and asked my name. At that moment it might as well have been Mud. Some people mean well but have an abrasive approach. The temptation is to give myself a title colleagues will remember.

Some things are better left unsaid. Having written about the absurdity of self proclaimed titles (does a Hiring Evangelist have a prayer?) I did not want to tell her to call me Guru. Some rappers call themselves bosses. That leads fans who probably have seven dollars in the bank to loudly state "I'm a boss!"

Did you do the paperwork? Have you set aside money for taxes? Paid the lease this month? Signed checks for employees? James Brown sang that he paid the cost to be the boss. By that time he had.

That was the theme from Black Caesar. It's a good film. Like most gangster movies the lead character moves up the line. The difference between this and Edward G. Robinson movies was no matter how high up he went the room was decorated with wood paneling. Oh, the seventies.

I am not going to ask to be called Svengali or any self proclaimed title. At times I have felt like The Funk Phenomena but would not expect anyone to refer to me as such. I cannot say why certain colleagues cannot remember my common first name. As long as the work is done well, call me late for dinner.
