TIME MAGAZINE: SPECIAL REPORT GLOBAL WARMING!

When I came across this issue of Time while researching YouTube videos about our #climatechange status, I did not make much of it because we in-the-know about the current #climatecrisis are already well too familiar with those subjects...we got somewhat numb, they don't surprise us anymore

But suddenly when I realized that this issue had been published in APRIL 2006, yes 2006 (!), I confess that it immediately sent me an ice-cold chill down my spine and my eyes filled with tears 

It has been almost 20 years since this scary alarm was published and we basically did not do anything significant to change or stall it

On the other way around, we kept making our #climatesaga exponentially worse 

The words on this Time publication cover fit perfectly right for what we are living in...WE MUST BE VERY WORRIED about our up-tending #climatecrises (plural) 

Now, #climate related calamities, of all sorts, have been surfacing every single day all over the world and they are getting worse, more frequent and extreme, at an ever faster pace, especially in the past few years loaded with multi-records 

Nowadays, most global leaders/ decision-makers are well aware of this threat but are still sluggish ("soft") to move proactively (authorities only react boldly after the disaster has happened) and worldwide individuals rarely press their local representatives around the world to promptly enforce bold mitigation actions

This is why I often urge climate experts, normally conservative and afraid to cause chaos, to call out broad and loud our civilization through all means of public communications; like this article that stresses that the actual dreadful situation will affect not only them but their kids and their kids as well 

Without their indefatigable demand over their regional leaders, the measures that were to be immediate will continue to be modest

Unfortunately, we have more headwinds to overcome than usual making things more difficult 

Many governments are distracted with the 2 major wars (many preoccupied, and officially and unofficially prioritizing investing in armaments), the reminiscences of the Covid Pandemic (overspent/ gigantic debts and deficits taken), funneling money rebuilding climate disasters that befall, elections in #Europe (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0wwepv5l6xo) and #UnitedStates, etc 

And the potential outcome if Trump is elected President and the drawbacks that may affect its fundamental leadership and the urgent decisions and actions against our climate predicament...

As I mentioned in a previous article, "Maybe our current #climatecrises, the greatest ever challenge to our civilization's survival, is an opportunity to leave aside our differences and JOIN FORCES to save our future generations... It reminds me of the legendary speeches of President Ronald Reagan in the late 1980s, including to the #UnitedNations, contending that humanity might need an Alien, an outer space threat to unite us all in a common bond against this vital menace (a must-watch video: https://lnkd.in/d-he9rxy ) THIS ALIEN THREAT NOW IS CLIMATE CHANGE, "THE NEW CLIMATE NORMAL", which makes all these wars meaningless if we can't survive them"
