Three women in video games ordained Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters

On March, 5th 2022, the French Ministry of Culture Roselyn Bachelot officially ordained Marie Blondiaux, Rebecka Coutaz and myself Knights of the Order of Art and Letters.

It’s an honor and privilege to receive this recognition alongside two amazing women trailblazers in the fields of video games and immersive media. As part of my speech, I spoke about how important it is to foster diverse voices as we build the metaverses of tomorrow and to bring forth the values of collaboration and generosity in everything we create. As Nobel Peace Prize nominee María Montessori said: "Everyone talks about peace, but no one educates for peace. In this world, they educate for competition, and competition is the beginning of any war. When educating to cooperate and owe each other solidarity, that day we will be educating for peace."

In the pursuit of this goal, Marie Blondiaux and I are proud to announce COVEN, a new video game studio based in France that will carry our values and participate in pushing the boundaries of video game storytelling. We are welcoming new voices and bold projects.

A special event was also held in Los Angeles, featuring tech and storytelling pioneers Sally Slade, Jacqueline Lyanga and French Consul Julie Duhaut-Bedos. Was mentioned the importance of mentoring and supporting the next generation and new voices in our industries, and the opportunities created by Web3 and XR.

As a storyteller and a woman in tech and XR, I am grateful for my past and current mentors and allies, and all the women pioneers who came before me and lighted the way for us, and I'm hoping to do the same for all the new voices in our industry.
