Tata Technologies collaborates with the Government of Tamil Nadu to engineer a better world for the youth

Today, the world is at the cusp of a digital revolution. The integration of digital technologies across industries is creating a radical change in the way businesses operate. Most of the industries and OEMs today are rapidly chartering the transition from traditional operations to Industry 4.0-driven operations. However, the transition to Industry 4.0 requires upskilling of youth with experiential training on the Industry 4.0-enabling technologies that are expected to drive the industry of tomorrow. The Industry 4.0-powered work architecture is driving the vision of Work 4.0. It is in this convergence of Work 4.0 with Industry 4.0 that organizations have begun to see the need for Education 4.0, which is aimed at offering students a learning facility and platform that equips them with industry-relevant skills and competencies. On one side we have youth looking for jobs and on the other side, we have businesses that are looking for skilled resources.

Tata Technologies' vision of Engineering a better world embodies our commitment to skill-building to engineer a better world for our youth. As an extension of the same belief, we are pleased to collaborate with the Government of Tamil Nadu to transform 71 state ITIs into modern technology centers enabled with the latest Industry 4.0-relevant technologies, infrastructure, industry-oriented courseware, and training facilities. Through this first-of-its-kind collaborative project with the Government of Tamil Nadu, we attempt to set a benchmark for technology upgradation of the ITIs and make them future-ready. These modern technology centers will facilitate skill training in machinery, equipment, tools, hardware, software, and services to be rendered for establishing long-term trades like manufacturing process control & automation, industrial robotics & digital manufacturing, mechanic electrical vehicle, basics design, and virtual verification, and advanced manufacturing. Apart from long-term courses, short-term skill training will also be provided in areas such as electric vehicle maintenance, robotics, automation, CAD/CAM, CNC machining, advanced plumbing, and additive manufacturing. The objective is to bridge the gap between academia and industry by a way of establishing futuristic technology centers to facilitate innovations & skill development of students and industry professionals who can be eventually absorbed as skilled resources in the industry, and support entrepreneurship. Tata Technologies will collaborate with its global industry partners to implement this project that will also facilitate the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies by making a skilled workforce available to desirous businesses.
