spring clean your weekend

Remember, spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up—it’s about creating a closet space that sparks joy, reflects your style, and simplifies your daily routine.

If you are one of the 43% of Americans feeling climate anxiety this spring, I hope my first Sift blog post will help you find specific tips for perfecting a spring closet cleanout.

  1. Sift!: Spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity to refresh and embrace sustainable choices. Take everything out–yes, everything–and lay your items flat to gain a clear perspective on your wardrobe. With a broader understanding of the pieces you own, you will be able to declutter your closet while building a capsule closet filled with curated essentials. Embrace this season of renewal by mindfully sifting (no pun intended) through all of your pieces and gaining the simplicity of a sustainably refreshed wardrobe.
  2. Clothing hanger trick: Turn all your hangers in one direction. flip the hangers the other way. After a few months, you’ll be able to instantly identify consistently unworn pieces. Let this intentional visual trick guide you toward a thoughtfully curated collection that reflects your style while following sustainable practices.
  3. Check in with yourself: If you haven’t worn an item at all in the past year, it’s time to evaluate whether it truly serves as a staple element of your wardrobe. If not, it may be worth letting go.
