Focus on tackling road worker abuse

In support of the inaugural 'Respect our workforce' week, led by Safer Highways and the Think Respect campaign, Sisk ran ‘Respect our road workers’ week in March.

The key focus was to highlight why the abuse of workers isn’t acceptable across highways projects, and that reporting any abuse is key, whether you’re a member of the public or a worker on site.

Across Sisk in the UK, the week saw site safety stand downs taking place across all of our civil engineering sites, in addition to Sisk-hosted virtual stand downs for all of our civils supply chain. There were public awareness events and a strong awareness push on our LinkedIn page. Everything was centred around the powerful messages in the video you can see above.

We launched two videos in March that coincided with International Women’s Day, featuring some of our female colleagues from across the Sisk business discussing how Sisk have supported them throughout their journey with us so far.
