Should US Government Spend More than Debt Ceiling?

In December 2021, President Biden signed a Democrat Bill increasing the Debt Ceiling by $2.5 trillion. President Biden and the Democrats spent and exceeded the Debt Ceiling for the first time in October 2022. Knowing this, Democrats failed to put forth a bill requesting an increase in the Debt Ceiling before proposing and voting on spending legislation.

Instead, in December 2022, Democrats pushed an Omnibus-Spending Bill that gave members of the House less than 72 hours to review the Omnibus-Spending Bill for a vote. After Congress passed the Spending-Bill, the White House administration flew the Spending-Bill to President Biden, who was vacationing in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and signed the Spending-Bill without regard for the Debt Ceiling.

The Omnibus-Spending Bill costs would undoubtedly exceed the Debt Ceiling President Biden signed in 2021. Therefore, passing the Omnibus Bill was unlawful since its costs exceeded the lawful Debt Ceiling.

Are Democrats and Biden Purposely Trying to Damage U.S. Economy?

The Debt Ceiling limits government spending as set by Congress and enacted by the President. In December of 2021, Democrats and President Biden had already increased the Debt Ceiling by $2.5 trillion. In April 2023, The House of Representatives passed a Bill that raises the existing legal Debt Ceiling by an additional $1.5 trillion. The Bill (posted on https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/2811/text ) cuts spending and provides efforts to reduce spending. The Democrat-majority Senate holds Bill H.R. 2811 and will not vote on it. If the Senate does not pass the Bill, Democrats will have defaulted on the U.S. Debt.

If the Senate passes the Bill, the Bill goes to the President. If the President provides a veto to the Bill, then he will have defaulted on the U.S. Debt.

Call your U.S. Representative and U.S. Senators and tell them to pass Bill H.R. 2811, which the House of Representatives passed in April 2023. Government has a limit by law, and it has to work within its budget not to exceed the debt ceiling.
