Science Opens Doors for Everyone

Open Science at PMI

Science is at the core of everything that we do at PMI. This month we celebrated several different events, starting with our Open Science livestream on June 12th, which focused on how innovation can drive the development of smoke-free products with significantly lower risk profiles than cigarettes. This exciting session brought together people from around the world to share groundbreaking ideas and ask questions that will help foster collaboration as we continue to deliver a smoke-free future.

Joined by expert panellists such as Carrie Wade, Head of Scientific Engagement; Thomas McGrath, Global Head of Scientific and Medical Affairs Strategic Operations and Excellence; and Christelle Haziza, Global Head Scientific and Medical Affairs, we discussed the innovation and evolution of our smoke-free products and shared the evidence that we’ve gathered on some of our smoke-free products.

These events are so important for us at PMI, to be able to share what we’re working on, what we’re doing to bring about change, and to show who we are as a business. Science is for everyone who wants to learn, ask questions and be part of the community.

We hear, almost daily, the Big 6, SAYING THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO SELL MORE REGULAR CIGARETTES. But we find ourselves faced with this HYPOTHESIS. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s12954-024-01034-6

I want smoking only rooms and events. Basically if you don't like smoking don't do that little fake cough and side eyes. Second hand smoke is worse than real smoke, STFU Karen.

Your pleas for immediate regulatory action, to avert negative consequences for smokers, may actually be more concerned, with protection from exposure, that the science concerning your new products is flimsy. https://exposetobacco.org/campaigns/pmi-iqos-illusion/

Save the tobacco industry. Tobacco has many alkaloids which are useful especially with medicines.

I am a non smoker but regularly crave a cigarette. For me there is something stress relieving about the action of smoking. Have you considered how AI could help you develop your next generation products, or is this something you are already doing ?
