SAVANNAH 100 FOUNDATION, INC., CHANGES LEADERSHIP

Savannah, GA – February 8, 2021. The Savannah 100 Foundation has new leadership.

After serving ten years as president of the Savannah 100 Foundation, Inc., retired

attorney Lloyd A. Johnson has stepped down. He will be succeeded as president by local

attorney, Nathanael E. Wright, who previously served as vice president.

Johnson said, “Learning from, supporting, and mentoring some of Savannah’s best and

brightest young people has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m

excited you the new leadership of the Foundation and it’s continued growth.”

“Mr. Johnson leaves big shoes to fill, however, he has laid a great foundation. I look

forward to take the foundation to the next stage of growth.” Wright remarked.

Rounding out the board officers for 2021 is Dr. Robert Pawlicki, Secretary, a semi-retired

psychologist, and journalist. Also serving on the Foundation’s board of directors are

Michael Kaigler, Chatham County’s acting county manager, attorney Pierre L. Ifill, and

retired Miami public administrator Charles Golphin. Not straying too far from the board,

Mr. Johnson will be acting treasurer.

The Foundation’s signature program is the Judge Eugene H. Gadsden Memorial

Scholarship program which honors the legacy of the late Judge Eugene H. Gadsden,

Savannah’s first African American Superior Court judge whose legal acumen and civic

leadership anchored Savannah’s civil rights movement. The prestigious program

identifies and supports Savannah area students who intend to model Judge Gadsden and

to become attorneys who will work for a future of decency, equality, and real social

justice.

The Savannah 100 Foundation, Inc. is an all-volunteer, IRS-approved nonprofit

charitable organization which uses the law for social justice by public education and

supports promising Savannah/Low Country students who intend to become attorneys and

to work for a future of equality and social justice. To learn more about the Savannah 100
