Re-Defining You

Re-Defining You

Want to do a quick visualization with me? Trust me it's quick and will set your day up for success.

All right, still yourself, take three deep breaths and picture yourself sitting in a chair. You’re in a blank room with four white walls and a door. You get up, open that door, and on the other side is a mirror. But the mirror is not reflecting you in this room, it’s reflecting you in your best shape, form, and being. What does that look like? Where are you? How does it feel there? What are you doing, and who are you with? What smells and feelings do you experience?

This is the best version of ourselves, when we are without worry, stress, anxiety, injury, or disease, or at least these obstacles are not defining who we are as our identity.

This is a place that is hard to find when you’re living with disease, injury stress, and anxiety. I have been in such a dark place for months, even years, trying to separate myself from the everyday drag that was my disease. And most of the time I was not even comprehending what I was running away from.

Let me also make this clear, it's completely OK to identify with your disease, it's why I’m here, connecting with you and it helps give us reason for what we have gone through.

I want to remind anyone reading this that you are more than a diagnosis, and you can re-define yourself to embody the best version of who you are. Each and every day we start with a blank page of choices, so are you going to make choices that bring you closer to your best self? You can, and you will, I believe in you.

As always: thoughts, comments, and concerns are always welcome. Send me a DM if you want to chat!

Follow me if you want to continue on this journey towards self-improvement through disease, injury, stress, and anxiety.

Xoxo,

-Lo
