Ransomware

From one of our Black Box solution architects

In the news May 09th:

Top U.S. fuel pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline shut its entire network, the source of nearly half of the U.S. East Coast’s fuel supply, after a cyber-attack on Friday that involved ransomware. Colonial transports 2.5 million barrels per day of gasoline and other fuels through 5,500 miles of pipelines through the eastern and southern United States. It also serves some of the country’s largest airports, including Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson Airport, the world’s busiest by passenger traffic.

  • There are more than 4000 ransomware attacks in the U.S. each and every day.
  • Ransomware will be a 1.4 Trillion dollar business in 2021.
  • What is your organization doing to protect itself from the threats of ransomware and next-generation malware?
  • When was the last External Penetration Test performed on your network?
  • What is your current email security strategy?
  • How does your network control Internet content?

Black Box offers comprehensive and competitive vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing services. These services are conducted using the same methodology as hackers use (Red Hat), and can uncover vulnerabilities and exploits that bad actors use to implement ransomware and malware attacks. If organization’s have not had an outside view and analysis of risk in the last two years, Black Box can perform a comprehensive risk assessment. A risk assessment identifies outside and inside threats to the business, and measures the organization’s ability to respond and recover from these threats if they were to occur.
