Essential Duties

QA Specialist is responsible for assuring the highest quality level of the company processes and products  supporting document control and change control tasks, collaborating in the review and auditing of cGMP  documents, executing internal audits, cooperating with corrective and preventive actions as well as  deviations and investigations, assisting with the training system, ensuring proper performance as per  company procedures, and providing excellent service to guarantee customer satisfaction. 

The ideal candidate will process and make timely decisions with minimal assistance. Technical skills and  self-motivation are required as competency must be demonstrated. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Batch Record issuance and review of all activities related to manufacturing and packaging.

• Decision making in production issues. 

• Ensure that standards and safety regulations are observed.  

• Support the issuance of cGMP documents. 

• Support the review of issued cGMP documents. 

• Support the issuance and closure of change controls. 

• Support the archival of cGMP documents. 

• Support the review and auditing of cGMP documents, including manufacturing, laboratory, and  facility records. 

• Support the execution of internal audits. 

• Support root cause evaluation as part of non-conformances and writing the respective  investigations. 

• Support the corrective and preventive actions system including its effectiveness evaluation.

• Support the training system by keeping all training requirements up to date including employee  training files and by contributing with the identification of training needs. 

• Attend training scheduled in every new or revised SOP related to the department’s function.

• Assure accomplishment of training program. 

• Provide excellent service and ensure customer satisfaction eliminating any kind of complain from  internal and external customer. 

• Generate and implement improvements related to area functions. 

• Apply understanding of manufacturing processes, production schedules, and cost factors to make  timely cost-effective decisions.

Minimum Requirements and Education 

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred; High school diploma or GED required • 4+ years prior production/manufacturing and QA or Lab experience 

• Food industry experience a plus 

• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy 

• Strong analytical skills 

• Ability to read, write, and keep records 

• Good computer skills including literacy with Excel and Word 

• The ability to focus on and identify variations from a standard of quality. 

• The ability to work independently and collaborative throughout the day. 

• Detail oriented & goal driven. 

• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to  adjust focus. 

• Must be able to work 12-hr rotating swing shift and work overtime as needed. • You will be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift 

• It's a physical job: you are able to lift up to 25 lbs from floor to waist with or without a reasonable  accommodation 

• You have basic math skills and can read and write in English 

• You are able to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable  accommodation 

• You are able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without  a reasonable accommodation
