We know COVID-19 is the biggest global event and challenge of our lifetimes. As such, it is changing human attitudes and behaviors and forcing organizations to respond. Amid all the ambiguity and doubt fostered during the last few months, if anything is clear is the fact that remote working and digital transformation of organizations are those elements that are here to stay for a while.

It is becoming increasingly clear that that Organizations would have to invest the time & efforts in identifying the critical roles, mapping the skill requirements, and preparing the workforce for future of work.

Leaders would have to work along with the other stakeholders like the employees, the government, and other associations for the same. The process ideally should starts with building on the broad views of the those sectors, functions, and occupations which are at risk. On the other hand, they need to also focus on the roles that have become more relevant amid the pandemic.

In many ways, this pandemic has helped demonstrate the power of technologies such as Digital, cloud, big data, Analytics, exposed security risks, and has helped businesses visualize new ways to use data effectively. While the pandemic will certainly spur a digital transformation, we need to see how it will shape up economy from employment perspective.

Alongside, We see human behavior also to face dramatic impact due to continuous lock down, looming fear of disease and financial implications.

One obvious fact is that people or places can carry an invisible threat. This put entire confidence of social interaction at back burner. This very erosion of confidence may make trust way more important than ever before and it may change the nature of what we regard as premium products and services.

This concern about health which has increased during the crisis will not change after it is over. Rather, health will dominate. A “health” economy will emerge with opportunities and skills for all to plug into.

The enforced shift to digital will fuel a massive and further shift to virtual activity for anything. It will affect ways of communicating across learning, working, transacting and consuming. Winners will be those who test and explore all of the associated creative possibilities.

Greater emergency or acceptance for the role of central authority or government and companies in society, and the importance of collective behavior, may occur. We probably will emerge as person with different mindset having implications on how we look at employment anywhere. Lets see what future holds for all of us.
