#NtentionalNsights  So much has happened over the last week; emotions are running high and people are on edge about the chaos and uncertainty that is looming. The one thing I have experienced in working with clients over the last week is that people are hurting and feeling helpless as to what they should do next. With #Covid-19 still an issue and now the death of #George Floyd; some people are finding it extremely hard to cope. It is in this time, that I thank God I have been able to minister to hurting people and remind them of the need to hold on to their faith during these perilous times. Are things difficult? Yes. Are we sometimes perplexed on every side? Yes. But one thing I know for sure is that God is faithful. So I would encourage you that each day you ask God to let you be the answer to someone's prayer and a listening ear for those who need a non-judgmental conversation to process their feelings. We are all experiencing challenges in our life; some people are able to carry it better than others. But it is important for us to dialogue and have some real conversations that are authentic and genuine. Consider the following strategies to help you navigate difficult but necessary conversations that are needed as a pathway to healing.

1. Be clear about the issue(s) you want to discuss.

2. Know your objective and what you want to accomplish from the meeting? What is the desired outcome?

3. Reflect on your attitude about the situation and the person you are talking to; adopt a mindset of inquiry.

4. Manage your emotions.

5. Be okay not being okay and be okay with silence.

6. Choose the right time, place and mindset needed to have rich and honest dialogue.

7. Know that you will not likely solve the issue(s) in one conversation.

8. Therefore, keep the dialogue going.
