"Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what." --- Maya Angelou

Good Sunday morning all and welcome to this edition (No. 84) of "With That Said" (WTS), an almost-weekly newsletter powered by your friends here at Supply Chain Now. Today, June 16th, we celebrate Father's Day in the United States. A big THANK YOU to all those fathers out there. And we send our thoughts & prayers to those that are honoring the memory of a loved one today.

Now let's move on to news & views from around the globe:

--- The Port of Baltimore officially reopened last week, after a cargo ship disaster that took place on March 26th. Maryland Port Administration Executive Director Jonathan Daniels told Supply Chain Dive : “We’ve seen a significant recovery in the roll-on/roll-off cargo that is really a staple of the port. We’re finally seeing the container vessels return in earnest.” Daniels expects normal volume to return in 2025. Read the article in full here.

--- The cocoa market is going bonkers, as the price per metric ton has more than tripled in the last year, having hit an all-time high in April of over $11,000. Many candy & food manufacturers are insulated from these higher prices due to long term contracts, but those renewal conversations are gonna be tough. According to CNBC : "West Africa, which grows the majority of the world’s cocoa supply, has been hit by crop disease and lower prices paid to farmers at the point of sale, called farmgate pricing, that push them to grow more lucrative crops such as rubber instead of cocoa. This season’s cocoa crop is expected to experience the largest deficit in at least six decades, according to a Rabobank report from May." Read the article in full here.

--- A recent headline in The Wall Street Journal declares: "The AI Revolution is Already Losing Steam". We imagine they'll get a few clicks from the headline, but what are your thoughts? One passage from the WSJ piece: "Evidence suggests AI isn’t nearly the productivity booster it has been touted as, says Peter Cappelli, a professor of management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. While these systems can help some people do their jobs, they can’t actually replace them. This means they are unlikely to help companies save on payroll. He compares it to the way that self-driving trucks have been slow to arrive, in part because it turns out that driving a truck is just one part of a truck driver’s job." Read the article in full here AND join us for "The Buzz" on Monday as Scott Luton & Kim Reuter discuss AI with John DeSarbo with ZS (join us here).

--- Speaking of AI, Irma Rastegayeva✨Influence Through Storytelling™️ shares interesting data from a recent survey by Microsoft & LinkedIn , who polled 31,000 from 31 countries around the world. Irma says according to the findings: "Employees are experiencing burnout, are overwhelmed, want and need AI for increased productivity and to help them be more creative. Employers need to show ROI on any investment in AI tools and devices, and are looking for solutions that will work for their business. According to the report, 78% of GAI users are bringing their own tools to work and using them on a regular basis, often out of necessity." Besides the productivity & workforce concerns, how does this impact cyber risk? Read more in full here.

--- In one of his latest newsletters, Pascal BORNET shares that 5 films made with OpenAI's Sora model will be featured at the Tribeca Festival. Pascal says "OpenAI trained select Tribeca alumni on Sora, a text-to-video generator, and will use their feedback to improve it before its public release later this year."
