My 6 P’s that Require ZERO Talent but Can Lead to SUCCESS.

Oftentimes we equate success with talent.

Reality Check: Talent + Technical Skills alone are not enough. We are all human and even the most talented people make poor decisions.

6 behaviors that require zero talent yet have a huge impact on our success:

Passion- When you are passionate about something it is easily noticeable and can rub off on others. Being passionate about something also gives you the ability to weather the storm during difficult times.

Perspective- A positive perspective can go a long way in the workplace. Having a positive perspective is KEY to doing great creative work. Your perspective determines the course of your life. A negative perspective can act as a roadblock in the path of your success.

Perseverance - Cutting corners may seem like the easy way out but it always leads to dead-ends. Doing your work with honesty and dedication will take you to new heights. Take pride in the quality of the work you’re doing.

Punctuality- Being on time requires zero talent but shows discipline. In other words, it gives a very good first impression.

Poise - Your body language speaks volumes about you. Be aware of your body language and make sure it is saying the message you want to communicate.

Preparedness: Like my mum always said “Failing to plan is planning to fail”. Always be prepared, have an action plan before you take on any task. Studies show preparedness reduces a significant amount of the possibilities of failure.

Overtime, however what may first appear to be small efforts will multiply and end up being significant. – Catherine Pulsifer

Which skills are you currently lacking, and where do you tend to fall short? Most of the big opportunities that we get in life come as a result of our grind (little choices made every day). In life your competition isn’t other people. It’s a summation of events: time wasted, procrastination allowed, unhealthy food choices, ignored personal development. Look in the Mirror. That’s your competition. YOU are your biggest competition.

We can't control what life throws at us but we can control how we react to it. Start making wise choices. Small steps every day. It will not only help you achieve success but it will also help to sustain it.

FAIL.. LEARN.. GROW.. REPEAT.

To All Your Achievements!

Cheers

Love this! When I worked for the University of Cincinnati, I was taught "to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is unacceptable". It taught me the importance of punctuality and professionalism. Congrats on your 1st article! :)
