No more tears Friday

This morning I was talking with a client about a new service initiative they are looking to launch.

"Graham - I'm tired of talking in circles with my team... everyone has a different opinion of what we need to do... and the clock is ticking"

Sound familiar?

Have you found yourself at the end of another week, wondering how on earth you start getting traction before the board begin asking pointed questions?

When you talk with a lot of leaders, you learn it's a frustration shared by many.

Too much talking - not enough action.

My client was almost in tears...

"We have to do something - so much is riding on this!"

Imagine this was you. What steps would you take to get traction - fast?

Thankfully the team at the Open Univerity in the UK have spent a lot of time exploring why the simple step of drawing a problem can help us gain clarity and alignment.

It's because we’re actually hard-wired to think visually.

So rather than more talking, I suggested my client start drawing.

In less than 20 minutes, and one very rough drawing later, my client was able to identify what was holding the team back.

Friday frustration replaced with action.

If you need a helping hand getting a key program moving, message me and I’ll get you all the details privately.
