LoJack Assists with Recovery of a 2019 Dodge Durando Stolen from a Dealership in Ellisville, MS
On June 14, 2024, at 1:39 PM, the manager of a car dealership contacted the Ellisville Mississippi police department to report the theft of a 2019 Dodge Durango from their inventory. The stolen vehicle was equipped with a LoJack GPS tracking unit. Ellisville police took a theft report and promptly entered the vehicle as stolen in the National Crime Information Computer (NCIC).
Simultaneously, the manager contacted the LoJack customer service center to activate the stolen vehicle tracking process. A LoJack law enforcement liaison investigating the theft checked the current location of the stolen 2019 Dodge Durango and discovered that it had been driven to Saint Louis, Missouri.
The liaison immediately contacted the Saint Louis County police to relay the stolen vehicle's location. Equipped with LoJack LE, an application enabling real-time tracking of stolen vehicles, Saint Louis County police swiftly utilized the information provided by the liaison and the LoJack LE app to locate and recover the stolen 2019 Dodge Durango.
The vehicle was recovered at 2:35 PM, approximately one hour after it was reported stolen in Mississippi.
