LoJack Assists Detectives with Recovery of a Chevrolet Camaro in San Francisco, CA

A woman in San Francisco, California, discovered her Chevrolet Camaro had been stolen from in front of her residence while she slept. The theft was reported to San Francisco PD and the vehicle was entered stolen in the NCIC database.

The victim also contacted the LoJack 24-hour stolen vehicle hotline to report the theft and request recovery assistance. LoJack agents confirmed the Camaro had been entered as stolen by law enforcement and subsequently added it to LoJack LE, a platform that allows law enforcement officers to directly track and locate LoJack-equipped stolen vehicles. This system enhances the chances of recovering stolen vehicles quickly and efficiently by leveraging technology and close coordination with law enforcement.

Utilizing LoJack LE, detectives from the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (ACRATT) discovered the Camaro was parked on the street in a residential area of Oakland. Upon arriving in the area, detectives found the Camaro under a car cover, in an attempt to disguise the vehicle's identity.

Many Camaros are often stripped for parts when stolen, but luckily this one was recovered intact. The prompt action by the LoJack team and the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (ACRATT) played a crucial role in ensuring the vehicle's safe return before any significant damage or stripping could occur.

Motor Team Inc. preinstalled the LoJack GPS system. Pre-installing LoJack is part of a comprehensive security plan for both dealerships and consumers. For dealerships, it helps protect their inventory from theft, and for consumers, it provides an added layer of security and peace of mind.
