Lineage is Built for This: The Transformative Power of Our People

This week, Lineage released our first-ever Sustainability Report, which shares the important initiatives and commitments that we, as a company, are undertaking to address crucial global challenges and strengthen our commitment to environmental stewardship, corporate citizenship and corporate governance. You can check out the report by clicking here: lineagelogistics.com/about-us/social-impact

The central theme is “Built for This,” articulating how Lineage is building a more sustainable future of ourselves, our industry and our communities. While most people think about sustainability from an environmental lens – and Lineage is undoubtedly committed to creating a cleaner, more resilient cold chain – our people serve as one of the key pillars of our sustainability and corporate strategy. Everything we have accomplished was made possible by our 25,000 team members around the world, and I am blown away by the awesome company and inclusive culture we’ve been able to build together.

Lineage – as our name suggests – recognized early on that a key part of our success has been bringing different companies and individuals together to create a unique and dynamic “One Lineage” culture. It’s always been our belief that our organization has been made stronger by the diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences of our global team and we’ve sought ways to channel our collective power through our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, which is detailed in the report.

As part of these efforts, we formalized our DEI Council, chaired by our President and CEO, that will help drive accountability and provide the necessary resources to unlock the full potential of our team members. We also launched five new ERGs last year, joining our inaugural Women in Lineage Logistics (WILL) ERG that was founded in 2019. These groups are designed to help build connections and bring team members of shared experience and backgrounds together, creating a community and providing an outlet to share perspectives and insights with the broader One Lineage team. All together, we have been and will remain committed to building a company and inclusive culture that celebrates Lineage’s rich history.

Not only have we strived to build a company that is centered around our people, the report recognizes our unique position and responsibility to give back to the communities where we live and work. From the start, we’ve found ways to partner with local charities, food banks and similar organizations to provide for communities in need, whether it was our Share a Meal global campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, or our support for families and employees impacted by the war in Ukraine. Our Lineage Foundation for Good has been central to our efforts to build stronger and more resilient communities, having facilitated over 2.7 million pounds of product donations from customers, issued almost $3 million in grants, and donated over 5,000 volunteer hours in just its first year as a public charity alone.

I am so impressed by how our team members have built an organization that is uniquely equipped to manage the current and future challenges of our industry. We still have a lot more to do, so I encourage you all to read our sustainability report and stay informed about how Lineage continues to push ourselves and the cold chain industry forward.

Congratulations to the entire Lineage team!

Sean
