The esports and gaming industry is abuzz with strong possibilities that Sachin Tendulkar and Adar Poonawalla-backed JetSynthesys might be planning a quick exit from Jet Skyesports. The digital entertainment and technology company holds a 65 percent stake in Skyesports Gaming. Recently, Skyesports has faced severe criticism from esports players and fans for allegedly defaulting on payments.

In August 2021, JetSynthesys acquired Skyesports, later renaming it Jet Skyesports, with the aim of building esports at the grassroots level in India. They also aimed to strengthen Skyesports' presence across India and set the stage for its expansion to South Asia, helping the brand create more intellectual property and strengthen its team.

‘Normal’ for big clients to call for media pitches before festive season?

Storyboard18 recently broke the news of Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors calling for media pitches. Industry estimates peg these media mandates in the range of 450-600 crore.

Only govt secy level official eligible for TRAI chief; Govt notifies rules under Telecom Act

The Union Government has notified rules under the Telecommunication Act 2023, which makes only a secretary to the government or officials with equivalent rank eligible for the position of sector regulator Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Chairman.

"Criteria for appointment as Chairperson and Members of TRAI: Section 59(b) of the Act will amend section 4 of the TRAI Act 1997 and prescribes criteria for appointment of Chairperson and Members of TRAI," the official said.

FSSAI mandates salt, sugar, and fat labelling on packages in bold, bigger font

In an official statement, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced it has approved "a proposal to display nutritional information regarding total sugar, salt and saturated fat in bold letters and relatively increased font size on labels of packaged food items."

The amendment to the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020, regarding nutritional information labeling was approved during the 44th meeting of the Food Authority, chaired by Apurva Chandra, Chairperson, FSSAI. The statutory body shared the latest amendment announcement on its official Instagram handle.
