Today too much of the press coverage about new technology is sensationalistic. News reports about artificial intelligence, big data and virtual worlds sometimes leave us feeling powerless and fearful. 

You cannot be creative if you are living in fear.  

CxSF proposes an alternative. We invite you to spend two days with us investigating the creative and constructive potential of tools that can strengthen communities and foster equity and resilience. The technologies under discussion at CxSF can be powerful tools for building resilient communities, but that message tends to get lost in the sensational news coverage of AI and virtual worlds. Together we will envision how immersive media, generative AI, and city-scale digital twins can be powerful additions to our toolkit.  Let’s lean in and set a course to manage these incredible technologies to build a better future for everyone.

With 20+ speakers, 10 hands-on workshops, an immersive art gallery and live participatory entertainment experiences by The Exodus Ensemble, and Aztecan dancers of Danza Tonantzin de Analco, AR art tours, tea ceremonies and tamale making, CxSF is an event like no other. CXSF 2023 is proud to present a diverse group speakers with deep expertise in immersive media, digital twins, artificial intelligence, as well as several experts in fostering vibrant communities and generating ROI we all want to live with. We have experts on impact investing, creative visualization, applied creativity techniques, Native American approaches to impact investing, and the application of digital technology to critical infrastructure and education.

A few of this year's speakers: Kevin Doyle Jones, a Founder of SOCAP, the world's largest impact investing conference, Leila Amersadeghi, Microsoft lead on mixed reality, Eyal Darmon, Accenture Generative AI lead, and Dean Newton, founder of the nation's largest Native-led venture fund. We open each day with just a few short talks from dynamic speakers to orient us to the topics of the day. Then we delve into hands-on engagement with the subject matter. By attending CXSF 2023, you’ll develop a personal familiarity with the topics and you will define your own personal vision for how the next phase of technology can be utilized for the betterment of society.

How can digital technologies enhance and restore community?

We are motivated by the conviction that digital twins, artificial intelligence, automation and data analytics can be deeply empowering for communities. That’s why we have created CXSF as an international forum where diverse people can gather to explore these issues openly, exchange views, and identify areas for collaboration and constructive engagement. 

In particular, the issue of data sovereignty and ownership among rural, Indigenous, and urban communities is emerging as a major focal point for large scale digital twins and city-scale data initiatives. 

How can investors generate ROI we all want to live with?

Impact investors are creating new methodologies for generating returns on financial capital that amplify human, social, cultural, and natural capital. As more and more communities grapple with climate change, a diminishing middle class, and desire to move toward truly equitable societal structures, investors play an important role in being a part of the solutions.

What role will creatives and artists play in shaping resilient, equitable communities?

Creative entrepreneurs drive social change and increase human, social, natural, and financial well-being. How can communities rethink the role of creativity and the arts as essential tools for community design and development? What technologies can creative leaders use to lead communities toward truly inclusive wealth building and access to opportunity?
