Humans Will Always Matter

Humans Will Always Matter

I’m having deja vu. First it was Siri, Alexa, and Smartphones and now it’s ChatGPT and Bard that are being talked about as a replacement for humans. But they are artificially intelligent cool tools. Not humans. Just the names are different.

Can you say conflicted? One recent article says that Assistants are “status symbols”  and “perks” who AI will be replacing. Another article states that Assistants are an executive’s “most important hire,” who AI is not nearly smart enough to replace.

Why? AI tools do not have Empathy. They also possess limited Intuition, Creativity, and especially, Adaptability. If a flight is cancelled, how quickly will AI respond to an executive’s preferences regarding the sudden change of plans? Will AI understand the domino effect of situational consequences? Will it know to inform a worried family? Does AI know the right words to say to comfort a grieving colleague?

AI is filled with super cool tools that require training and practice – just like every other tool that humans use. Assistants happen to be great at figuring out all these devices and teaching others how to use them.

For these reasons, AI will continue to play an important role working alongside humans, not replacing them.

AI is still in its infancy and ChatGPT is so full of errors that anyone relying on it for research is a fool. Chat GPT is now banned in Italy and I suspect will be banned in many countries. An Australian mayor is planning to sue OpenAI for falsely claiming that he was a criminal. Even simple searches I have done makes false statements about ACEA, what it is, who authored it and who promotes it etc. By all means play with it but using it to support your job is very dangerous.

The world is quickly becoming impractical, focusing on the ROI than mankind.

I agree with you, Bonnie. I considered myself “High Touch. I am not a “High Tech at all “. But, improvements are in place. 😅. Thank you for asking.

Spot on 🔥Bonnie Low-Kramen AI will be best used alongside humans to ensure that empathy and care enhance the output from AI.
