How to Pitch a Family Office Investor?

How to Pitch a Family Office Investor?

Many clients come to us for guidance on best outreach strategies.

The think about Family Offices is that no two are alike so it's hard to generalize.

As often as possible, we include pitch preferences in the Family Office's profile description. There are some who prefer a short and concise email, there are some who like meeting through partnering conferences where they are offering value-add education, there even a few that state they will only consider a pitch that is printed and physically mailed.

At the end of the day, Family Offices are lead by people who want to invest in things they understand and more importantly...

PEOPLE THEY TRUST

For those who struggle with the outreach strategy, do your homework.

Start by knowing the history and investment preferences of each Family Office prospect.

Then DO NOT cut and paste or "send all". This spray and pray mentality will waste not only your time, but the Family Offices as well.

Once you've identified that a particular Family Office fits your wheelhouse, craft a thoughtful yet concise email. Don't be afraid to be human and let your personality and things you stand for shine.

Here's some inspiration:

Dear [Investor's Name],

I hope this email finds you well. My name is [Your Name] and I am reaching out to you as I am interested in exploring a potential partnership or investment opportunity with your family office.

I believe your family office's investment philosophy and expertise align with the goals and values of my business, [Your Company Name]. We are a [brief description of your company and its mission]. [Include any notable accomplishments or milestones].

We are currently seeking additional funding to help us achieve our growth targets and believe that partnering with a family office like yours would be an ideal fit. I would welcome the opportunity to share more information about our business and discuss potential investment opportunities further.

Please let me know if you are open to scheduling a call or meeting to discuss further. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

[Your Name]

Danielle Patterson... thank you for sharing your experience here. Well done. To optimize your outreach strategies, it is also important to consider who you're reaching out to. Take some time to research the people and try and understand what is important to them as well as what kind of opportunities they are open to exploring. If your product or service lines up beautifully, then you may be onto something.
