How many visitors will come to Coiltech Italia in 2021?

Coiltech Italia is the only coil winding exhibition in Europe that will take place as a face-to-face event in 2021. So, many are curious to see what the visitor turnout will be like. What will prevail: curiosity and the wish to meet many professional colleagues in a short time at a trade fair (344 exhibitors) and conference (55 presentations)  like Coiltech, or scepticism because of the dynamics of the pandemic?

Reason enough for us as organisers to compare and analyse the pre-registrations for the event day by day and share the results with the interested public.

The current status indicates that the audience is looking forward to seeing each other in-person again and that the exhibition will be busy: the pre-registration level in the first week of September 2021 is comparable to that in previous years (in the graph: 2018 and 2019).

From our experience, the figures for the first week of September give the first meaningful trend for Coiltech Italia: the long-term comparison of visitor registrations shows that virtually all visitors to an edition decide and pre-register in the last four weeks before the fair.

The current momentum of pre-registrations, confirms our personal impression from many personal conversations with exhibitors and visitors, and not the least from the posts of exhibitors on LinkedIn, which express the joyful anticipation of Coiltech Italia 2021 in many ways.

Also, the distribution between visitors who pre-register for Coiltech for the first time and those who visit the event for the second time is comparable to previous years. The graph on the left shows: as the date of the exhibition approaches, the proportion of pre-registrants who have already visited at least one prior edition of Coiltech increases. Currently, 56% of the pre-registered visitors to Coiltech have registered for the fair for the first time. The explanation for the more compact occurrence for the 2021 edition: from the 2020 edition onwards, it has been possible to pre-register for Coiltech Italia only from mid-April - after the conclusion of Coiltech Deutschland.

There is one trend we are particularly proud of: the proportion of visitor registrations accounted for by producers is steadily increasing over the years. This is a result of the great care with which the visitor marketing team maintains and develops the Coiltech invitation list. Our focus is on creating and maintaining relations with individuals who work in R&D, production and purchasing at manufacturers of electric motors, transformers and generators.

"Forecasts are always difficult, especially when it is about the future." It is not clear whether the author of this saying is Mark Twain, Karl Valentin, Niels Bohr or Winston Churchill. We will know how many visitors actually come to Coiltech at the end of the event. What is certain, however, is that we are working with great pleasure and passion to get it off the ground.
