James Luce I would have liked to have this capability on many of the missions I did in Iraq. I mention those scenarios (raid, recovering a vehicle, exploiting an IED, clearing a blocked road). The device I describe would not expose soldiers. It launches from a grenade launcher at high velocity to where it anchors in concrete from far away.
Thanks for including a photo of how the bed-sheet technique was deployed in Aleppo. This probably was of some assistance for a civilian population that did not move about and through streets outside of blocks protected by the sheet barrier. I’m not sure how a mobile unit of soldiers would be able to successfully deploy such barriers as they rapidly move from neighborhood to neighborhood. The point soldiers attempting to anchor the sheets would be fully exposed. Thoughts?
