General Motors joins National Wildlife Federation as founding member of Climate Equity Collaborative

Today, I’m delighted to share that General Motors has joined National Wildlife Federation as a founding member of the Climate Equity Collaborative, a breakthrough public-private initiative focused on addressing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.

GM’s focus is on changing the world by leading an all-electric, autonomous future that is sustainable, equitable and brings workers and communities along. And there has never been a greater opportunity—and responsibility—to set a course toward a more sustainable future for all.

The Climate Equity Collaborative is about breaking down barriers that have kept underrepresented communities on the sidelines. It's a natural build on the climate equity work GM began last year when we put forth our Equitable Climate Action framework to guide our decisions as a business.

To elevate the Collaborative's purpose, GM and the National Wildlife Federation are sending 🔌 AY Young , musician and United Nations Young Leader for Sustainable Development Goals, on an all-electric road trip from the Detroit Auto Show to #ClimateWeekNYC. AY will drive in the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, one of the most affordable EVs on the market and a symbol of GM’s efforts to make the transition to EVs more accessible.

We’re proud to be a founding member of the Climate Equity Collaborative and look forward to other companies joining us in this movement to take stronger, more inclusive action on climate change.

Equity and inclusion should always remain at the center of climate solutions. I’m very proud to have GM support the Collaborative as we continue building on our efforts around Equitable Climate Action.

The Future is Electric! Lithium Ion batteries have changed our world to be a "mobile" economy. The safe, regulatory compliant, sustainable management of batteries at end of life is paramount for a Green future.

This is an incredible initiative Kristen and one that I hope will have demonstrable influence by supporting the communities that have historically felt the greatest impact of climate change. Thank you for your continued leadership and work ensuring our most vulnerable communities are being included in our transition to a sustainable, all-electric future.
