GenAI Presents Massive Opportunity for Growth and Progress

I’ve had the great fortune over nearly 40 years at Dell Technologies to witness some pretty epic technology changes in our world. The birth of the personal computer, the creation of the Internet, smartphones, cloud computing, and more.

With each wave of innovation, an echo chamber proclaimed the demise of everything that came before, but the reality is that new use cases expand the opportunity and the possibilities. So, in each wave, our company has innovated, evolved and succeeded.

But nothing I’ve seen so far compares to what is happening right now with AI and Generative AI.

Recent advances in GenAI could represent a 20-30% productivity and efficiency improvement for many activities across the economy. That’s never happened before and for us, and many of our largest customers, it’s become the number one priority. Approximately 75% of companies are planning incremental, new funding to support GenAI initiatives.

The hoped-for productivity boost is desperately needed as we face an ever-increasing explosion of data – the most valuable asset of any organization.

To put that data to work, whether via workplace solutions, multicloud architectures, intelligence at the edge, or AI and GenAI, takes a whole lot of computing power and more.

As Dell’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke notes, GenAI is far from a one-size-fits-all model. It requires an end-to-end solution, the right infrastructure, a data plan, software and services that work seamlessly to support workloads across clouds, on-prem and at the edge.

And that’s no problem for a technology provider that has four decades of focus on listening to customers and offering them choices to fit their specific needs. By seeing the opportunity others often ignored, Dell has grown and strengthened through every new technology shift.

When speaking with securities analysts recently, our Chief Financial Officer Yvonne McGill said it well: the world is headed our way like never before and we’re ready for it.

We stand today at the beginning of the GenAI era, perhaps the biggest opportunity in Dell’s history and for the next wave of human progress.

I couldn’t be more engaged, optimistic and excited for our future.
