An Evolved Strategy for A New Era

An Evolved Strategy for A New Era

2020 was a year of unprecedented challenges, exposing entrenched and glaring injustices, and taking its heaviest toll on those least protected by inequitable systems. It was also a year that underscored the resilience and ingenuity of the social entrepreneurs and other social innovators in our network and the communities they serve.

For the Skoll Foundation, it was a year of reflecting and learning how best to advance equity, sustainability, and positive social change. The year’s challenges helped us focus our strategic priorities and sharpen our hypotheses of how best to support the social entrepreneurs and other social innovators who transform our world.

This year we reaffirmed the sage advice that John Gardner gave Jeff Skoll when he was starting the Foundation: “Bet on good people doing good things.” In our just released 2020-2021 Annual Letter, you’ll see many examples of the truly good organizations and leaders with whom we partnered over the last year. You can read more about their extraordinary work here.

I’m inspired by our community and excited about the journey ahead. It takes collective effort and collaboration across roles, organizations, and sectors to drive truly transformational social change. Stay connected with us here.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll join us at the virtual 2021 Skoll World Forum--free and open to all--April 13-15.

Don Gips I am so proud to see the way that you've navigated this time and how you're sharing your perspective with our community of philanthropists. We all need an evolved strategy that elevates our highest aspirations but also targets those most often left behind. Have you developed yet a disability inclusive or disability justice framework for your programs/giving? Happy to help on this anytime. :)
