Enough is Enough

While every shooting is unthinkable, the recent attack at the Highland Park Independence day parade hit extra close to home with 2 of our Kargo employees, Becca Poeta & Brittany Perlmutter, in attendance with their young children. You can see from the pictures and video what started off as a happy moment quickly turned into them running for their lives. We are thankful that they and their families are safe, but enough is enough - the country needs change.

Buffalo, Uvalde and now Highland Park witnessed these horrific repeats of senseless mass gun violence within the past 60 days. These indiscriminate mass shootings in combination with more than 250 others this year have no commonalities other than unfettered access to high powered arms and mental illness. In fact, there is no pattern, no bubbles of safety, no differential between affluent or less affluent, the violence is anywhere, anytime and accelerating in repetition. The only certainty at this point is that it will happen again. Kargo will enhance our commitment and support for the #gunsafetyalliance (GSA) by providing pro bono creative ad design and media inventory. The GSA is designed to raise awareness and drive community engagement to help support education around Gun Violence Prevention (GVPs) organizations that are on the front lines of this crisis but are struggling to raise funding to create smarter controls around access and better programs to keep guns from falling into the wrong hands. We will recruit other members of the tech and media industry to join the fight to end Gun Violence. #enoughisenough
